The Detroit Red Wings will likely extend their playoff drought to 11 seasons, behind only one other streak in NHL history. Former general manager Steve Yzerman was removed from his role in July after seven unsuccessful seasons, and interim general manager Shawn Horcoff has taken over. Dylan Larkin requested a trade but remained with the team before training camp began.
