We started life as The Winged Wheel, a Detroit Red Wings board. We have grown up. The Winged Wheel is now THE LAMP, a home for fans of all 32 NHL teams.
What that means for you:
- A hub for every team: roster, cap, schedule, and a dedicated board.
- The Books, a full league salary-cap database (committed money, space, every contract).
- Pick your team in Settings and the whole site wears your colors.
- Same clean, fast, ad-free room. Just a lot bigger.
One heads up: some older threads were written back when this was a Detroit-only board, so they will read Detroit-heavy. That is just our history showing, not where we are headed. From here, it is the whole league.

Quick housekeeping note from the mod desk: as part of the expansion to all 32 teams, we have been pruning a lot of older threads from the Red Wings-only era (duplicates, stale season chatter, and things that no longer fit a league-wide board). That cleanup is ongoing, so certain corners of the board may feel pretty bare while we grow into the new footprint. Wings talk now lives in the Detroit Red Wings lounge alongside the other 31 team rooms. Thanks for bearing with us, and keep the lamp lit.
