Connor Hellebuyck requested a trade from the Winnipeg Jets in April, but general manager Kevin Cheveldayoff has been unable to complete a deal. Cheveldayoff stated he does not want to trade the goaltender for future assets and prefers immediate returns. The Jets' management believes trading a starting goalie is different from trading other positions due to contractual commitments and the unique nature of the position.
