Doughty named Kings captain ahead of 19th NHL season

Drew Doughty was named captain of the Los Angeles Kings, replacing Anze Kopitar who retired after a 20-year career with the team. Doughty had served as alternate captain since the 2015-16 season and has played his entire NHL career with the Kings. He becomes the franchise leader among defensemen in points, goals, assists, and games played.
