Simon Edvinsson participated in training camp practice with the Detroit Red Wings despite not having a contract signed. Coach Todd McLellan praised Edvinsson for attending practice and remaining ready to perform. Interim GM Shawn Horcoff stated that signing Edvinsson is a priority and that his team is working to complete the contract deal.
