Interim Red Wings GM Shawn Horcoff plans to give young players a chance rather than burying them in Grand Rapids or signing veteran replacements. He stated that younger players are making more immediate impacts in today's game compared to the past. Three Red Wings draft picks who left the organization over the summer will attend training camp with other NHL teams.
