Interim general manager Shawn Horcoff stated that a Red Wings rebuild is "out of the question" and that the team has too many good players. The organization has failed to qualify for the Stanley Cup Playoffs for 10 consecutive seasons, the longest active drought in the NHL. Training camp is set to begin Thursday.
