Alex Newhook signed a four-year, $22.2 million contract with the Montreal Canadiens, beginning next season. The forward had 25 points in 42 games last season and 10 points in 19 Stanley Cup Playoff games. The Canadiens also signed defenseman Arber Xhekaj to a one-year, $1.5 million contract.
