The Buffalo Sabres acquired a third-round pick in the 2027 NHL Draft (originally from San Jose) and forward David Kampf from the Washington Capitals in exchange for forward Alex Tuch. Kampf, 31, recorded six points in 40 games last season between Vancouver and Washington and is set to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1. Tuch, 30, was also scheduled to become an unrestricted free agent on July 1 after spending five seasons with Buffalo.

honestly didnt see tuch getting dealt tbh thought he was still gonna stick around i mean kampf is fine but 3rd round pick seems like a bit of a throw in unless theyre really selling low on their cap situation dont think this helps much ngl gonna need to see more moves from krueger
idk man ngl i feel like we got fleeced tbh 3rd round pick for tuch is straight up robbery unless he's hurtin bad and they're tryna dump salary but that dont seem to be the case with him being ufa on july 1 like what a mess
tbh i think this is a decent deal for sabres kampf's not gonna break bank and can fill 4th line center role imo tuch was never going to re-sign so they might as well get some value back in return now they got something to build on with that third round pick
idk man ngl i feel like pat_blackhawks is right tbh 3rd round pick for tuch is a steal by sabres kampf's fine but he's not exactly a game changer and tuch was still scoring last season so i gotta think flyers wouldve gotten more if they were sellin him this offseason
