Shawn Horcoff was appointed as interim general manager of the Detroit Red Wings, effective immediately. He will oversee day-to-day roster decisions, salary cap management, and hockey operations personnel while reporting to governor and CEO Chris Ilitch. The previous general manager, Steve Yzerman, will transition to senior adviser role.
