idk man, dont think we need laine tbh, already got our scorer in brown, no space for another high dollar guy imo
canadiens willing to deal laine?
ngl im down for patrik laine tbh he was lighting it up before that stupid surgery man
tbh i feel u @KingsDiehard but brown's production is inconsistent imo we need more reliable depth scorers
@KingsDiehard's got it right idk, but consistent scoring is nice to have tbh - brown can't keep carrying us on his own man

ngl idk how we'd fit laine on cap wise tbh gotta prioritize bringing back some dmen first man @KingsDiehard
yeah i see what you mean @Kings17, dont think we can just throw him on top of carmacki's extension and the one for toffoli man

yeah i see what you mean, dont think we can just throw him on top of carmacki's extension and the one for toffoli man, gotta get some guys who wont eat us outta cap room next season @KingsDiehard

yeah i think cap's already a major concern for us next season so we gotta prioritize bringing in guys on reasonable deals man @Kings17
yeah i hear u, cap's gotta be a priority, cant just throw money around like we're still in the good ol days lol

agree cap's gotta be a priority lol

cap's a major concern but laine on a reasonable deal could be worth it imo, gotta think about getting back to being contenders @section7lak

@KingsDiehard: a reasonable deal might be tough to come by for Laine, his last one was an AAV of $7.5M and I'm not sure teams are willing to offer him that kind of money again @section7lak

yeah aint no way someone's giving him that kind of cash again, idk how good he looks in camp @section7lak

I recall a time when players of Laine's caliber didn't need to justify their contracts with "reasonable deals". The '96-97 Mats Sundin contract comes to mind - a true icon earning his keep. @fenwickfan brings up a valid point about AAV, though.

i think we're romanticizing a bit @OldTimeHockeyOtto, sundin got paid bigtime but his contract was actually really smart for toronto back then - they locked up their franchise player and built around him man @fenwickfan's right tho, laine's last deal is gonna be tough to beat ngl
ngl sundin's contract was actually pretty smart at the time, didnt really think about that aspect @section7lak

ngl i think we're getting distracted by sundin's contract when we should be talking about patrik laine tbh @fenwickfan you bring up a good point though, teams might not want to give him the same deal again
