I think @CanadiensLoyal is right about Kreider's value at his age. He's still got that fire in him, just like Gordie used to have late in his career, and one year deals are great for teams looking to test the waters with a veteran player. It'll be interesting to see how he fits into Montreal's lineup.
Kreider Signs With Habs
ok i'm kinda shocked they landed him tbh he's still putting up big numbers in his mid-30s and that one year deal is perfect for a team on the cap floor like us ngl can't wait to see what he does on our 4th line
honestly i think we're all underestimating how good this signing is ngl, if he can stay healthy and bring that grit and scoring punch to our bottom 6 man

I think you're selling the cap implications short - one year deals are great for cap flexibility, but we'll need more than just Kreider's numbers to justify his signing; I'd be curious to see where he fits in the lineup and if that 4th line spot gets pushed around as camp progresses.

tbh i'm still trying to wrap my head around the cap implications too, but honestly man, a guy like kreider on that 4th line can make a huge difference even if its just in terms of energy and presence ngl @fenwickfan

i mean idk how many people remember but back in the day they used to call hawerchuk's production "grit and scoring punch" man that kinda description always brings a smile ngl @fenwickfan
honestly dont think theyre comparable situations though man, hawerchuk was on another level in his prime and kreider is just a guy who can still put up points in his mid-30s @section7mtl
tbh i dont see how u can say kreider is "just a guy" who puts up points, hes carried teams on his own for years man @Canadiens9
