Blackhawks season preview: Kane return could provide spark for playoff push

The Blackhawks will begin the 2026-27 NHL season without Connor Bedard, who is expected to be out until November following shoulder surgery. Patrick Kane has joined the team on a two-year, $16 million contract to bolster the offense. Bowen Byram was acquired from the Buffalo Sabres to strengthen the defensive corps.
