John Chayka discussed Auston Matthews' physical readiness for training camp following knee surgery, while also addressing team expectations and the recent personnel changes. The Toronto Maple Leafs have made more than two dozen personnel changes since missing the Stanley Cup Playoffs last season, including hiring Chayka as general manager and Mats Sundin as senior executive adviser. The team's new leadership has been active since May 3, including winning the NHL Draft Lottery and selecting Gavin McKenna with the first overall pick in 2026.
