Ilya Protas eager to seize ‘big chance’ at Capitals training camp

Ilya Protas expects to begin the season as the Capitals' third-line center after impressing in four NHL games last season. The 20-year-old, selected 75th overall in the 2024 NHL Draft, will compete for the spot during training camp at McMullen Hockey Arena. He follows his older brother Aliaksei Protas, who was drafted 91st overall in 2019 and is in his sixth NHL season with Washington.
