The Detroit Red Wings announced forward Dylan Larkin has been stripped of the captaincy ahead of the 2026-27 NHL season. Larkin requested a trade from the team last June and will report to training camp later this month. The team stated any decision on who will wear the "C" will be made once new hockey operations leadership is hired.
