Injury-prone vets taking up residence on LTIR? We've got enough of those already in Stevie's lineup, thank goodness for our youth and not having to rely on a bunch of spare parts like some teams I could mention. Veleno needs to focus on getting back to being a serviceable NHL player before we start counting his milestones.

Actually, GrumpyInGrosse, Stevie's roster still looks a bit thin on center depth outside of Larkin and Zadina, which could make Veleno's development even more crucial down the line – especially if you consider the cap implications of losing guys like Mantha or Bertuzzi.

Kid, I agree with DetroitTom on that roster depth concern at center. You don't want to be stuck scrambling for a cog or two if you're already counting on Larkin and Zadina to carry the load. Veleno's development will indeed be crucial down the line, and it's something I'll be keeping an eye on.
