The Anaheim Ducks are placing Chris Kreider on waivers to terminate his contract due to cap constraints following their signing of center Leo Carlsson. The 35-year-old winger is a proven 50-goal scorer coming off a 50-point season and would provide veteran presence to the Detroit Red Wings' young roster. Kreider may not be available if the Red Wings do not have a general manager in place when he becomes an unrestricted free agent.
