I gotta agree with you there, @section301nyi. Debrincat's gotta be a major ask and that cap hit just isn't realistic unless they want to get heavy into LTIR stuff. @tbh, I think you're being generous on the goal scoring, don't get me wrong, he's got some great years left but it's going to cost!

I think there's still a bit of smoke where there used to be fire, gentlemen. I recall when they signed Kane to an extension and it was said he'd be worth the hefty price tag. The numbers might seem daunting now, but Debrincat's scoring ability could make him a valuable asset if the cap becomes more manageable in the future.

@OldTimeHockeyOtto dont get me wrong i still think kane was worth it but debrincat's a different story man, hes not even in kane's league as far as production goes

i think youre underestimating how crazy expensive debrincat is gonna be man, idk how anyone expects him to sign for less than 10 mill per year honestly

@IslandersLifer i think you're right on point, dude, debrincat's gonna want that kind of money and i dont see how the islanders can even fit him in without getting ugly with cap gymnastics man.

@steve_islanders i think we're just being realistic about cap space and that's a good thing man, no sense in getting our hopes up for some guy who's gonna break the bank honestly

imo the islanders are gonna have to move some salary before they can even think about bringing in debrincat man, we cant just magic up space like thats it honestly
