laine to edmonton? really?

i feel u, tbh we gotta be smarter about free agent signings imo, but laine does have some crazy skills when he's on man

@section7edm laine has been one good season for like 4 yrs now tho, cant keep throwing money at guys who can't put it together for long periods man

I think the streakiness is an understatement - he's got a 10% xGF% over 1000 minutes at 5v5 as a Hab, so while flashes are possible it's pretty clear his underlying game isn't consistent enough to pay top-dollar for.

idk what kinda metrics fenwickfan looks at but 10% xGF% over 1000 min is still better than the guy who's supposed to be leading our team right now tbh

laine's been pretty decent since leaving cgy, but still gotta think about all that $$$ we're throwing around, might not be the best use of it man @Oilers17

ngl that 10% xGF% is actually pretty decent for some of our current guys who get paid way more than laine would tbh

@Oilers17's got a point tho, 10% xGF% over 1000 min actually isn't shabby, can see why he'd be looking at Laine as an upgrade imo honestly

yeah we can definitely do better than "decent" but decent is a lot more attractive than what we've been getting from some of our top six imo @Oilers17's stats are pretty close to laine's tbh
