Red Wings place Jimmy Howard on injured reserve

The Detroit Red Wings placed goalie Jimmy Howard on injured reserve after he sustained a lower-body injury in a game against the New Jersey Devils. Howard will be out for at least one week and was replaced by Petr Mrazek, who made 13 saves on 16 shots. The team recalled Jared Coreau from Grand Rapids but expects Mrazek to start against Montreal.
