Red Wings Consider Ex-Griffins Player for Top Job

I'm not sure how much weight to put on a guy who played 18 games with Griffins almost two decades ago getting a shot at a major role, but I suppose it's better than another GM candidate flaking out. Brett Peterson has some experience in the system and might bring a unique perspective to the job.
Can someone provide more info on his time since playing? Was he coaching, scouting, something else?
