I'd say Di Pietro's success or failure isn't solely tied to Marchenko's contract situation, but rather his own performance numbers in the AHL last year were promising: a .923SV% with a 5.13 high-danger save percentage is respectable for a rookie goalie. We'll see how he handles more pressure at the NHL level.
