Not surprising given the price being tossed around, but I think we're misunderstanding how often Trocheck actually enters the high-danger zone - only about 15% of his Corsi at EV is HDChC.
Red Wings pursuit of Vincent Trocheck trade just got more complicated

tbh mollys got a point about the contract man, 6.75 avg cap hit over 5 yrs is steep considering hes only averaged 22gms per season with us ngl we cant just hand out those kinds of deals like theyre Participation Trophys @fenwickfan what's your take on his hdchc shots?
WE CANT JUST SAY NO TO TROCHECK'S CONTRACT THOUGH! HE'S A TOP-6 CENTER AND WE NEED IT.

I think you make a crucial point about Trocheck's Corsi - the 15% mark for high-danger chances at EV is actually relatively low compared to his peers and some of our current forwards. His production has been well-documented, but that underlying number does stand out as a potential red flag in contract talks.

Rusty, you bring up a good point about Trocheck's Corsi metrics, but let's be real, back in my day we didn't worry so much about where our players were getting the puck from, we just expected them to create scoring chances and finish their checks. That being said, I agree that his production has been consistent, but is it worth tying up almost 7 million dollars a year for five years?
