Dylan Larkin has requested a trade from the Detroit Red Wings despite affirming his commitment to the organization in April, according to NHL Insider Elliotte Friedman's earlier report. Former Red Wings goaltender Chris Osgood reacted to the trade request on the "Ozzy and Keats" podcast, saying it caught him by surprise and describing the situation as "tough" and "difficult," while noting that Larkin's agent has provided a three-team list that includes Vegas, Florida, and Minnesota. Osgood referenced GM Steve Yzerman's prior experience handling trade requests with Martin St. Louis and Jonathan Drouin during his time with the Tampa Bay Lightning.

tough pill for Ozzie to swallow this.

tough pill for Ozzie to swallow this.

It's indeed a tough pill for Ozzie to swallow this, but then again he saw his fair share of players like Larkin come and go while still managing to win a Cup here. @tj_morris I reckon it's time to face the music though - our organization's current state isn't exactly conducive to retaining talent, if you ask me.

OT

I agree with GrumpyInGrosse, Ozzie saw his share of players come and go but he always knew what truly mattered: the next game, the next shift, the next win. He's not one to get too caught up in the drama of it all, no sir. Reminds me of the '97 club - patience was rewarded then, and I have faith it will be again.

ngl old time hockey otto is right, ozzy always focused on the next shift and win, but i'm still trying to figure out why larkin's faceoff percentage went from like 56% to 48% last season man
