Dylan James recorded 21 goals in four college seasons after being selected No. 40 by Detroit in the 2022 NHL draft. The Red Wings signed him to a two-year entry-level contract after he completed his senior season at North Dakota. James scored twice in his first two games with Grand Rapids Griffins following his professional debut.
