Detroit Red Wings draftee Charlie Forslund is competing for a spot in Sweden's SHL with Brynas, the same club that signed former Red Wings draft pick Calle Jarnkrok. Coach Niklas Gällstedt indicated Forslund would need to play on the first line to secure a roster spot, as ice time limitations may prevent him from earning a place on the team. Forslund, 20, was impressive in Sweden's third division with nine goals and 19 points in 19 games.
