I think @TransactionWire hits on something important when he says finding a suitable trade partner could be difficult for Hellebuyck. You'd need a team that can take on his contract and still has holes to fill in the lineup. Reminds me of the '97 club, patience was rewarded then and it will be again.

@kwilson's point about cap math being basic is fair, but let's be real - teams often get stuck on Hellebuyck because of his actual skills, not just salary. I think @OldTimeHockeyOtto might be onto something with the concept of finding a team that can take on both the contract and still has holes to fill.
