The Red Wings' Yzerman era ended after eight drafts with no playoff team. Antti Tuomisto was drafted as a defenseman from Finland's top junior league, spent years in various levels including three seasons with Grand Rapids Griffins in the AHL, and signed with Vegas Golden Knights this offseason. Theor Niederbach was drafted as a 5-foot-11 forward from Sweden's MoDo system who never became an important player in Detroit's organization.
