The Detroit Red Wings are considering former Grand Rapids Griffins defenseman Brett Peterson for the director of hockey operations position. Peterson, who played 18 games with the Griffins during the 2008-09 season, has served as an assistant general manager with the Florida Panthers since 2020. He was appointed general manager of the U.S. Men's National Team for the 2024 IIHF World Championship.
