Yzerman on free agency: 'We won't be able to sign all of them'

I'm not surprised, Yzerman's made it clear he won't break the bank on FA signings. We should focus on getting our prospects into play and letting them grow their value in the system.

I agree with DanM88 on this one. Reminds me of the old days when we built a team around our own prospects and then supplemented them through free agency. Steve Yzerman's got his priorities straight, folks.

I don't see why we need to throw gas on the fire, Hank - our cap situation isn't exactly ideal and taking on big FA deals might force us into some tough decisions down the line. Let's focus on building through the draft and letting our prospects earn their keep.
