tbh i feel like we overpaid a bit for him but idk what else was out there imo he has the speed and hands, we just need more consistency from him

i kinda see what ur sayin @Oilers17, hes young but we cant be giving him a free pass imo when the top 6 spot is up for grabs man

@Oilers4Life, I'll give Lafreniere time to develop but "giving him a free pass" when there's competition for top 6 spots? That's precisely what these young players need - a push to step up their game. Reminds me of the '97 club - patience was rewarded then and it will be again.

i dont think we should be giving him a free pass no matter who else is competing for spots honestly, if he cant hold his own then he probably shouldn't be here @jake_oilers had some good points about the speed and hands though man

idk about "giving him a free pass" when it's about performance on the ice, if he can't hold his own in training camp then maybe we need to reevaluate his spot @Oilers17 made some good points tho

idk if we should just be looking at training camp tho, a lot of guys take time to gel and find their game, maybe werent expecting him to carry the team alone or anything but decent production would be nice man
