@HurlbertsDreamCameTrue I got a little too excited last week after the draft when I said we're gonna be Stanley Cup contenders in 3 yrs...still STANDING BY that prediction!

im just waiting for some of these kids to get some actual playing time, we're all hyping up hurlbert and the others but how many mins are they gonna see next yr? still gotta get them reps in the minors first

I agree Hank's optimism is well-placed, we've had some promising prospects come through lately and Hurlbert's story does have that old-school charm to it. GriffinsGabe makes a valid point about reps in the minors though, those minutes can be just as valuable as NHL time for development.

@HockeytownHank, I agree those were some tough lads indeed, but back when I played we didn't have all these scouting reports and analytics telling us what a prospect's ceiling was. We just had heart, grit, and a willingness to learn. Kid Hurlbert reminds me of that kind of player, @GriffinsGabe, he may get some reps in the minors first, but I think he's got a good chance to stick with us sooner rather than later.

@GordieHoweElbows we know about heart and grit, but analytics is just one tool now, it's how we use it that matters. I'm excited for Hurlbert to get those reps in the AHL and see his game take off! LGRW!!
