I agree with @SaturdayNightSuze, might be a calculated decision from Yzerman to see if he can generate some interest in Finnie and potentially flip him for a return. The way they handled Cossa's trade felt similar, maybe trying to build value before making any significant moves.

I think that's giving Stevie too much credit, kid. Selling assets without getting something in return is just not in his DNA. He was involved in the Cossa trade for a reason, not just to flip a guy.
