dont think babcock is gonna magically fix everything ngl our d was exposed bad last season and we still have no clue who our top 6 is gonna be man
Babcock is back eh?
imo babcock is exactly what we need a old school coach who knows how to win now lets get some more help on d and maybe someone to score some goals tbh our pp is still broken man
I'm still waiting for "a magical fix" from Babcock given his last stint here. The D was exposed bad last season? That's putting it mildly - we got destroyed out wide and in the faceoff circle.

ngl doug_g i totally get why you'd be skeptical given last time around but destroying out wide and in faceoffs is pretty much the same problem babcock inherited in '16 @OP
@OP yeah dont get me started on faceoffs we got destroyed again last year and thats on more than just babcock man.

yeah i get where youre coming from but i still think babcock is a step up from where we were last season with keith and staff man he brought us back from the dead before
@Oilers4Life cant disagree more ngl keith and staff wasnt that bad we were just crushed by injuries and poor deking decisions from our forwards man
@jake_oilers idk how injuries and "poor deking decisions" can make up for like, 50% of our goals coming from d man... that aint on keith's coaching or deking imo

i dont think keith and staff were that bad tbh most teams would kill for a d core like weve got, injuries are just a part of the game man @Oilers17 i get where youre coming from but lets not forget how far we came last year with them in charge still a pretty amazing run imo

i still think keith and staff was better than babcock man at least they had a system ngl it's been over a year since we made the playoffs without some kind of miracle lol @Oilers4Life

idk how you can say that keith and staff is better than babcock when our d corps still looks super thin and we got no real depth scoring man @jake_oilers think about all the cap space we gotta clear if we wanna make a legit run at a cup now
@section7edm said:idk how you can say that keith and staff is better than babcock when our d corps still looks super thin and we got no real depth scoring man @jake_oilers…
man section7edm you're totally right still think we need a legit top 6 scorer tho, appleton is great but one guy cant carry the whole team, imo
@appletons gonna have to carry us through another season man honestly i still think we should be looking for someone to take some of that load off his shoulders
@Oilers17 i cant believe u're still saying apples gonna carry us lol he's a great player but one guy cant do everything man we need someone to score 20+ goals not just rely on him to bail us out all the time
@section7edm said:@Oilers17 i cant believe u're still saying apples gonna carry us lol he's a great player but one guy cant do everything man we need someone to score 20+ goals…
tbh i still think we're being too reliant on apples, one guy can't do everything no matter how great he is, ngl we need a legit scorer man @Oilers17
@Oilers17's point about Appleton being our only hope is a concerning one. But let's not forget that last season, he generated 2.63 high-danger chances per 60 at even strength - a rate well above the league average. That kind of production can't be relied on as the sole solution to our scoring woes.

@fenwickfan dont get me wrong appletons a beast and all but at the end of the day its not just about hd chance generation man we need someone who can put it in the back of the net ngl @Oilers17 i think we're both on the same page here
@Oilers17 said:@appletons gonna have to carry us through another season man honestly i still think we should be looking for someone to take some of that load off his shoulders
imo apples is more than just a goal scorer tho man, he brings that energy and physicality that we've been missing tbh his absence would be felt all over the lineup @Oilers17

man i think u hit the nail on the head with that energy thingy imo we've been too soft on d and someone like appleton brings a lot of grit to the lineup @Oilers17

@Oilers4Life: yea i think apples gives us that bit of grit but also we cant just rely on him to get us goals tbh someone else needs to step up man

man apples is more than just a goal scorer tho he's basically the whole reason our lines looked decent last season imo
apples may have looked decent lol but let's be real moritz seider dominated on d all season 😂🔥🐙
