Lafreniere set for next step toward future roster spot with Oilers

Tommy Lafreniere will play college hockey at Western Michigan University after three seasons with Kamloops in the Western Hockey League. The 19-year-old forward was selected by Edmonton in the third round of the 2025 NHL Draft and finished last season as Kamloops' third leading scorer with 77 points in 67 games. Lafreniere chose to move up to Western Michigan to compete against older players and develop his game in a more professional environment.

idk why ppl are actin like this is a suprise, hes been playin junior for 3 yrs now dont get why its news @TheWire just wait till hes on the pp and he makes a boneheaded penalty in a real game lol
