tbh i dont think friedman knows half the things he says either lol, and even if edvinsson does get an offer sheet at least we'll be able to keep his faceoffs from tanking on our second line @WingsInFour

@HockeytownHank I get your enthusiasm but let's not assume we're in a position to "get it done in house" without discussing our organizational struggles first, including the wait on a new GM and salary cap space concerns. We can't afford to be overly optimistic here.

@RedWingRusty, I think you're hitting on something there - our organizational struggles have been well-documented and it's reasonable to wonder if we'll be in position to "get it done" on Edvinsson without some cap space clearing or a new GM in place, per Sportsnet.

Kid, you think we've got $10 mil+ of cap space? That's a little wide of the mark, if you ask me. We freed up some room when we sent Cossa packing, but it's going to be tight getting all our young guns under contract without some tough decisions.

Kid, I'm glad someone's keeping an eye on things. Trading for a big D man might sound like a good idea, but we all know how those deals usually pan out - high risk, low reward in my book. We need to focus on developing what we've got, not bringing in a new face.

I agree that we can't just spend our way out of cap issues, but it's also foolish to count on other teams making major offers for Edvinsson when there are still several weeks before free agency opens - a lot can change between now and then.
