GREENBERG FROM THE TIGERS?! NOT A PRO HOCKEY GUY IN SIGHT...WHAT IS ILLITCH THINKING ???
Red Wings GM Search Heats Up
DetroitTom1mo ago
According to multiple sources close to the situation, Chris Ilitch is indeed considering Jeffrey Greenberg from the Tigers as a potential replacement for Steve Yzerman per Jeff Passan (ESPN) and Helene St. James (Detroit Free Press). Not sure what kind of NHL experience he brings, but MLB isn't the same animal - will be interesting to see if this one pans out.

@WingNutWendy, Ilitch might think Greenberg brings a winning baseball mind to hockey. Sources also say he has some connections in the hockey world from his Tigers dealings. That doesn't necessarily make him a proven GM candidate, though per Helene St. James.

@WingNutWendy ngl Detroit's made some questionable moves lately, ilitch might think greenberg's baseball smarts will translate somehow man

@toddm_tc I don't care about 'baseball smarts' or whatever. We need a hockey guy in charge, not some Tigers suit who thinks he can translate 'strategy'. Next thing you know, Ilitch will be calling the play. LGRW!
