WHAT'S THE PLAN NOW

I agree that Larkin's situation needs attention, and deepening the prospect pool was one of the primary reasons for trading Sebastian Cossa to Utah - we should be seeing some more young talent emerge from Grand Rapids this season @HockeytownHank.

@DetroitTom, I agree we need more talent, but think about all the young guns on GR - Smetana, Johansson, maybe some of our D prospects start making waves! It's only a matter of time before we see some of these guys step up and make a real impact.

You're getting excited about those Grand Rapids prospects, kid! I like that kind of enthusiasm, reminds me of watching a young Terry Sawchuk play for the Red Wings back in '51. @DetroitTom's got a point too, we gotta be patient and let some of these kids develop their game, just trading Cossa doesn't solve everything right off the bat.

@tj_morris, kid's enthusiasm is exactly what we need around here - some fire in our bellies that reminds us of the Production Line days. We can't just dismiss his optimism, @WingsInFour's got some good points too about the prospects coming up from Grand Rapids.

@OctopusOnIce, I'm not saying we should only look to the past for inspiration, but there's value in understanding how successful teams were built and sustained. We need a mix of both old-school values and modern roster management.

@RedWingRusty, OLD-SCHOOL VALUES AND MODERN ROSTER DECISIONS arent just about mixing metaphors, its time to make some REAL moves!

Kid's enthusiasm is just fine by me, but I'll say again, a well-rounded team takes time to build. All this fuss about making "real moves" might spook a good GM into doing something hasty. Let's focus on getting the D corps sorted out first and worry 'bout Larkin later.
