I don't think we should be so quick to judge the Wings' front office on Schenn. I've been saying for years they got a bad habit of overspending on overhyped free agents instead of developing their own talent. That's why we're still hearing about how much cap space they have.

man cant blame em for wantin a big splash, but id rather see them take a shot on some young d-man from europe or somethin than overpay again honestly

man id rather give prospects a shot than old vets too, that way we can actually see who's got what it takes ngl @section7lak had some decent points about eurolievers

@Kings17, you bring up some good points about taking shots on young Euro-leaguers. I think that's a direction worth exploring, reminds me of the early days with Nicklas Lidstrom and Sergei Fedorov, giving those young players an opportunity to thrive. Their patience was rewarded in the end, as we all know.
