I think you're reading way too much into Simon's D-wall performance from last season - one strong stretch doesn't a career make. He still has work to do to prove himself at the NHL level.

I respectfully disagree, RedWingRusty. A single strong stretch can be just as telling as it is for a player struggling through one. Think of the '58 team and Gordie's 32 goal streak - those moments can stick with you for years to come.

Kid, you're thinkin' like a scout who's watchin' too much highlight reel. A strong stretch is exactly that - a stretch - and it shows me this Simon kid's got heart, maybe more than some of these young fellas we got in Detroit. Agree with @eddy_77 on this one, he's a sleeper worth keepin' an eye on.
