Edmonton Oilers hired Mike Babcock as their new coach after he was cleared by an NHL investigation following his departure from the Columbus Blue Jackets. Babcock, who last coached in the NHL in 2019, will be Connor McDavid's sixth coach and Leon Draisaitl's eighth. The team's star players view him as a good fit for their Stanley Cup aspirations.
