I don't see how anyone would want to deal DeBrincat at deadline unless they're getting a top flight player in return. Reminds me of the '97 club, patience was rewarded then and it will be again. @DetroitTom should give that trade proposal more thought before jumping on it.
Sabres Eyeing DeBrincat
Per Bleacher Report, the Sabres are predicted to target Alex DeBrincat at the '27 deadline if we're out of contention. Not sure how I'd feel about shipping him off then, still has two years left on his deal.

I think patience is a good approach, but it's worth remembering that DeBrincat has two years left on his deal and Buffalo may feel like they're stuck with him regardless of how things go this season. Trading at the deadline could be their only chance to recoup some value before he becomes even more difficult to move down the line, as @OldTimeHockeyOtto pointed out.

@OldTimeHockeyOtto I'd argue that trading a player like DeBrincat at the deadline could potentially bring back a package with an elite prospect or a young NHLer, rather than waiting for him to walk in free agency and collecting draft picks as compensation. @RedWingRusty has a good point about Buffalo's cap situation, they may feel pressure to move him sooner rather than later.
@DetroitTom, that's cute! You think trading DeBrincat at deadline gets them an elite prospect? RAYMOND IS HIM. That's all we need to say on prospects.
@HockeytownHank you know we cant let anyone diss Raymond!!! did you SEE that move last season???
