@SuburbanWings here, Gordie. I think that's exactly what Stevie Y and Co are building towards - depth scoring from all four lines, not just top-end talent. The long game's about patience and getting the right pieces in place for sustained success.
No Goals, No Glory
I was talking to an old buddy of mine who watched the Wings when I played and he said, "Gordie, you knew what it took to score goals." Kid, we were a team that finished 1st or 2nd in scoring five times. We had Gordie Howe, Marty Pavelich, and Sid Abel on the same line - talk about talent. Now they're saying Dylan Larkin's got to stay if they want any offense?

That's how we built those consistent offenses in the old days, and I think they're on the right track with their approach. Reminds me of our '57 championship, when everyone pitched in to make it happen.

i think your right @GordieHoweElbows but i still have a few concerns about our d depth now that tarasovs gone dont get me wrong he wasnt even a top 6 guy in the league but some of these young defencemen they are counting on r prob gonna need a season or two to mature

yeah i hear ya @sam_t87, but imo theyre gonna get another solid d-man in free agency, might not be a top-pairing guy but someone who can chip in offensively and block shots man
