I've seen some messes in my time, but hiring a search firm to find a GM? That's just lazy. Reminds me of the '97 club. Patience was rewarded then and it will be again.

The Detroit Red Wings' search for a new general manager has caused Dylan Larkin's trade request to be put on hold. The team has hired a search firm to find a replacement for Steve Yzerman and assistant general manager Shawn Horcoff is handling day-to-day operations. Larkin has not withdrawn his trade request and reportedly wants to be traded to the Minnesota Wild, Vegas Golden Knights, Florida Panthers, or Dallas Stars.
