Former Michigan State hockey star Shawn Horcoff has been given the opportunity to run the day-to-day operations for the Detroit Red Wings in the foreseeable future. Following the departure of Steve Yzerman as GM, Horcoff will oversee the organization until Chris Illitch makes his next hire. Horcoff is handling day-to-day responsibilities though that does not extend to making trades.
