Report: Red Wings hire search firm to find next general manager

The Detroit Red Wings have hired a search firm to find their next general manager after Steve Yzerman transitioned to senior advisor to owner Chris Ilitch. Yzerman had served as GM since April 2019, during which time the team missed the playoffs for the 10th consecutive season. Assistant GM Shawn Horcoff is currently managing day-to-day operations while the search is underway.
