Steve Yzerman stepped down as Red Wings general manager on July 15. The organization has hired an independent firm to conduct the search for his replacement. The search process was revealed by Helene St. James of the Detroit Free Press on Wednesday.

I don't think its about time, I think they're just trying to find a magician to wave their wand and fix all these problems. They've been searching for a GM since July 15 and now they need an outside firm to find the CEO too. What's next, hiring a search team to find their hearts?
