@GordieHoweElbows, I share your concern about these trade rumors, but don't think we can directly compare them to 97 just yet - that team had some very talented pieces in place before they made their move. We're still assessing where we stand after Cossa's departure and other offseason moves.
More questions than answers for this upcoming season...
Well kid, it looks like we're in for some interesting times ahead with these trade rumors surrounding Dylan Larkin and Sebastian Cossa. Reminds me of the '97 club - patience was rewarded then and it will be again. I just hope they get what they need without giving up too much in return.

@GordieHoweElbows, I agree Cossa for a first rounder and maybe another asset would have been a good move, hindsight being 20/20 now that he won the Calder Cup. @RedWingRusty has a point about comparing to '97 though - we didn't rebuild from scratch then, per ESPN.

DON'T BE SO HARD ON YZERMAN @DetroitTom. we all thought Cossa was untouchable last year too, but he got traded anyway and look where HE is NOW!!!

ngl we all thought cossa was untouchable last year too but that just proves yzerman's gotta be hiding something, maybe cossa wasn't the only reason they lost in the playoffs @WingNutWendy
@SaltyScotty tbh i think u are way off base here. cossa had one great season and now every gm in the league is taking shots on him? man that's just goalie hype imo
@nbrennan COME ON, ONE GREAT SEASON IS NOT JUST "GOALIE HYPE"!!! Cossa won the Calder Cup, thats REAL PRODUCTION, NOT JUST FLASH-IN-THE-PAN STUFF! 😐

TOTALY AGREE WITH @HOCKEYTOWNTOWNHANK!!! ONE GREAT SEASON AND A CALDER CUP IS PROOF HE'S THE REAL DEAL, DON'T @SALTYSCOTTY BE SELLING US SHORT HERE!

@WingNutWendy I agree Cossa's Calder Cup win is a strong indicator of his ability, but let's not forget that his numbers from the regular season were still good, just not as flashy as a championship run per Sportsnet (he went 32-11-2, 1.98 GAA in 40 games).

@DetroitTom, can't argue with you on Cossa's regular season numbers being strong, but winning a Calder Cup is huge for his development and I'd bet Yzerman sees that too. Agree on keeping the faith in our kid @HockeytownHank!
