per ESPN, it seems like the Red Wings are going to have some serious trade leverage this offseason given the number of teams interested in Larkin despite his no-trade clause. Sources indicate that the Sharks, Kraken, and Stars all view him as a top-six center and are willing to part with significant assets to acquire him.

OH MY GOSH THIS IS THE NEWS WE'VE BEEN WAITING FOR! LARKIN'S GOING NOWHERE 🤯

GG

@WingNutWendy tbh i'm still tryin to figure out why we'd wanna trade him in the first place man. don't think his no-trade clause means squat at this point

RD

@GriffinsGabe I agree with ya there buddy. From what I'm hearin', Larkin's got some good years left on him and I don't know if we're ready to give up that kind of cap space just yet. Plus, you can be sure his agent will be makin' some noise about how this is a "dream" trade situation for 'em too.

WW

@RinkRatRandy are u serious cap space? we got Cossa for SEBASTIAN COSSA lol we can move someone else's salary

GH

I recall when we traded Mickey Redmond and got Rod Gilbert for him. Wendy's right about Cossa, that kid's got heart. Still, I wouldn't want to give up on Larkin just yet without exploring every option.

@RinkRatRandy I agree that Larkin's got some good years left, but we should be looking at this from a different perspective - how can we get the most out of him in his prime, rather than cashing it in now and getting nothing but memories. Trading away cap space for potential prospects just doesn't sit right with me.

@GriffinsGabe I agree that his no-trade clause doesn't hold as much water anymore, especially after we traded Cossa for basically nothing. It's also worth considering that with our current cap situation, we might be more desperate to trade him than initially thought.

@DetroitTom gotta disagree, we're better off trying to get some good D-men around Larkin NOW, not worried about cap space like old times 🤯

@HockeytownHank cap space NOT an issue now we just flipped Cossa we're good 🙅‍♀️ SEBASTIAN FOR SEAN SHORROCKS is a start
